Leaving OSCA

Students who wish to leave OSCA and return to Oberlin College Residential Education and Campus Dining Service may do so at any point by filling out the Co-op Release Request Form. Your release from OSCA will become effective according to the current semester Change Date schedule.

A Note to Housing & Dining Members

OSCAns who have a housing & dining placement may only switch into another housing & dining co-op, and are not eligible to switch directly into dining-only. To become eligible for placement into a dining co-op, housing & dining members must first release their housing & dining assignment and switch back to Res Ed/CDS.

How long will I be in CDS?

That varies depending on which dining co-op you would like to be placed into.

Sometimes, when there are many available spots in your preferred dining co-op, it is possible to leave OSCA housing & dining and be placed into dining during the same round of changes. (In that event, you will be emailed both a "Leaving OSCA" message and a "Welcome to OSCA" message, which reflects the actual process you have taken to achieve your dining placement.)

At other times, the wait for a dining co-op placement is longer. You will usually have a better chance at immediate dining placement by choosing a dining-only co-op like Pyle or BBC rather than Tank, Keep, or Harkness.
